FACEBOOK'S SCRAPPED REDESIGN: We now know why Facebook scrapped its bold News Feed redesign, which was supposed to roll out last year. The problem: Not enough of its users had good enough or large enough devices that would do justice to the new look and feel of Facebook. During testing, the redesign "didn't work very well on a 10-inch netbook ... a single story might not even fit on the viewport," according to Facebook's product design director Julie Zhuo.
